Enter the world of David Best, the most celebrated artist ever to emerge from the 20 year-old creative
maelstrom of counter culture that is Burning Man.
Filmed over the course of five years, The Temple Builder paints a deeply intimate portrait of the man
behind the myths; from his incredible art car and collage work, to the powerful spiritual centers he
creates in the Black Rock Desert to his courageous work in San Raphael, CA for the benefit of
day-laborers, Best's work powerfully impacts the people around him.
Post-screening we will host a soiree with djs and performers who are a part of the Burning Man community and have been involved in art projects and sound camps over the years.

The Crucible's studio transforms into a fantastical landscape of fire 
and light. Enjoy aerialists from Flyaway Productions soaring overhead, 
flame-tempered delicacies, and a live bronze pour with performances 
by Von Stilt Family, LOOP!STATION, Copper Lantern, The Nekyia, and 
Ashley Knight. All this while bidding on works by prominent Bay Area 
artists in our live auction. Then join our procession to the Fire 
Arts Arena for the Festival's opening ceremony.
All proceeds support The Crucible's youth and adult educational and
outreach programs.

Twisted Fiery Circus

Take a tumble down the rabbit hole into an otherworldly carnival of 
fire. The night comes alive with lightning from Tesla coils and 
eruptions of fire. The circus was never like this, with performances
from Mark Bamuthi, Prescott Circus, Vatra, Loco Bloco, Ultra Gypsy, 
Copper Lantern, El Circo, Von Stilt Family, XENO, DJ Vordo, Yard 
Dogs, and an eclectic collection of fiery circus performers.
Tickets: $25 members/ $30 non-members

High Voltage Chaos

The Festival reaches its cacophonous crescendo, lighting up Oakland's 
skies with a symphony of fire. Witness packs of fire spinners, 
flaming antlers, fire breathers, and performances from Elz Cuya, F-
Space, Pyronauts, The Nekyia, DJ Vordo, The Mutaytor, and a finale 
from the one and only Extra Action Marching Band.
